Moving and Shaking

This kid is amazing.

Immediately following the engagement she bought a binder and went to town ripping and tearing pictures, making lists and all around task mastering. She is a whirlwind of ideas and babbling brook of wedding discussion. What fun she's having. To date I have this information:

  • Date: July 4, 2009 (He's in the military, it's very appropriate for them)
  • Colors: navy and ivory
  • Maid of honor: close cousin Em
  • Bridesmaids: too many to mention, some of whom don't get along. This won't be pretty unless they can pull themselves together.
  • Gown shopping: DONE! The bride and I had a blast shopping and she found a gown, for...get this...$95
  • Date change: July 11, 2009 (He's afraid he can't get the week off because he doesn't have seniority)
  • Color change: stone and ivory (So that his military dress blues stand out amongst the crowd)
  • Maid of honor: still Em
  • Bridesmaids: still fighting
  • Flowers: calalillies (Same as what I chose long ago)
  • Smiling still? You bet.

More another time...

Does This Mean I have to Wear A Polyester Pantsuit?

Am I really old enough to be mother of the bride? SH** !

I Got A Text Message In The Middle Of The Night

....from my daughter who had traveled to Florida to visit her military boyfriend of almost four years. The text read:

MOM, **** JUST PROPOSED TO ME!

If that doesn't startle a woman awake nothing does. She's eighteen, will graduate in June and is following in mother's exact footsteps. Hold on tight, we're in for quite a ride.
